The Age of Phillis by Honorée Fanonne Jeffers

We recommend this book for its content, critical approach, imagination, and creativity for older students.
My Name is Phillis Wheatley: A Story of Slavery and Freedom by Afua Cooper

We also recommend this book, which provides an imaginative description of Wheatley Peters' youthful experiences prior to her enslavement and honors her African home roots. You can find a blurb of the book under General Readings.
